24 July 2026Pruning an apple tree The team from Acorn came back in January and pruned a very large and out of control apple tree in our garden. The guys were punctual and communicative, and did a great job of getting the tree sorted. They tidied up after themselves, and even cleared our Christmas tree which was sitting in the garden waiting to go to the tip - that’s really going above and beyond. I was especially grateful as no other company even returned my enquiries, as I think my job may have been too small. Not only were they able to do exactly what I needed in the garden, I really appreciate when a tradesperson does a 'small' job as well as a big job really well. 31 December 2025TALL ROTTEN TREE REMOVAL - REAR BACK GARDEN ROMSEY ACORN in Dec 2025 took down a tall rotten tree in our garden. The weather conditions were terrible but the work was safely carried out over 2 days with a team of 5 operatives. All wood was ground up / chipped/ disposed of to a licenced site. Clear up in my garden and my elderly nerighbours was exceptional - indeed my neighbour wrote to me confirming this. Andy got in touch promptly & visited my property to inspect the tree that needed to be cut down. He gave me good advice & discussed the options available. I received an estimate which was very reasonable. 15 August 2025Yew tree pruning Acorn were recommended to me and I am pleased I acted on the recommendation, as Andy and his team did an excellent job in cutting back a large yew tree in my parents' garden. Beforehand they advised on the best course of action to keep the tree healthy, and the team were prompt, polite and cleared up very thoroughly when they had finished. H&C Courtier22 February 2025We asked a year ago Acorn to remove three very large trees in our garden, and pollard another. I can't praise this company enough: agreeing on dates, job description and price, and Acorn perfectly sticked to the agreement. Very professional, great result, very clean finish. Also left us few logs as discussed. Even more meritful was their dedication in completing the job, despite their heavy and expensive unrooting machine getting badly damaged by a piece of metal burried in my garden. Andy managed to get help from his friend with a similar machine to finish the job (after I used a metal detector to make sure no other metal was left). My other garden plants are blooming, now that the large trees are gone. I was told some one would come and check, all done very nicely, and things were corrected. In total I was very happy with their response and actions and will not have aproblem in using them again. Sometimes things go a bit wrong, but it is how they are delt with that counts. Over all I would give them a score of 11 out of 10. Excellent service and customer care.Posted on Google

We found Acorn Tree Specialist through Check a trade. Andy came round to give us a quote for the work to be done, which I thought was very reasonable. On both times when they knew they were going to be late, they let us know in advance. The chap made an excellent job pruning our tree, which was akward to get at. They cleared away after them, leaving the garden tidy. The whole experience from the quote, prompt response from the office until the day of pruning, were excellent. The work from start to finish was professional, to a good standard and exactly what we asked for. Our property was also left extremely tidy upon completion. Maggie Smith26 June 2022Caring and friendly - Andy was our cat retrieval hero today. Why our cat had to go so high up the tree...for the second time, we will never know. It was a huge relief to get in contact with Andy, who was able to get him down with no problem at all. Andy was very punctual and he even submitted the application for us as we are in a conversation area. That was a nice extra. A good mornings work by three of them, very polite and tidy and even trimmed another bush of ours and picked all the leaves up. Andy and his team were very professional, polite and fast in their work. Despite the difficulties of having to completely remove 3 large trees that were partially hanging over several neighbouring gardens, they finished ahead of schedule and even offered to perform some other secondary pruning and trimmings around the garden free of charge to fill the remaining time. Andy and his colleagues arrived about 8 am and got straight to work. They were all courteous and friendly (waving to our 2&1/2 year old who was fascinated by the work). They all worked really hard during a hot spell of weather. Andy explained everything clearly, regarding what they were doing and when. The following day Andy felled our holly tree in 5 minutes and finished off the willow tree. The garden was left tidier than it was before the work was started! Andy did a very neat job on the removal of the trees and even helpfully logged them so that we could burn them on our log burner. The brash was chipped and removed from site. Andy came and viewed our bowing tree, filed the paperwork with Southampton Council and conducted the work quickly on approval.
